WASA aims to establish an improved channel for water supply, sewerage, and drainage facilities in Islamabad.
Capital Development Authority has decided to form a water and sanitation agency in Islamabad.
CDA is in talks with the concerned institutes to start the agency at the earliest. This initiative will focus on improving the existing work-frame redefining and upgrading the existing systems. The project will also build new and upgrade the old water treatment plants to boost the sewerage treatment capacity and better the drainage system of the city.

Technical support for the project will be provided by AFD (Agence Française de Développement), a French agency that helps countries achieve the UN’s sustainable development goals.
“The WASA Islamabad project underscores CDA’s commitment to providing world-class amenities to the citizens,” said the chairman of CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa in talks with the media.
“This initiative will address current challenges and pave the way for a more resilient and sustainable future for Islamabad,” he added.
