A Chinese firm has been convinced to work again on the dam under tight security measures.
Islamabad: A Chinese construction firm has resumed work on a major dam project in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province after receiving enhanced security measures, according to a news source on April 4.
As per the details, the work on the Diamer-Bhasha dam has restarted with increased security measures, while efforts are underway to persuade the China Gezhouba Group Company to reopen the Dasu dam site. Security presence in the region has been strengthened with more personnel and expanded patrolling teams.
China remains a key ally of Pakistan, providing substantial financial assistance and investing billions of dollars in infrastructure projects to support the country’s development.
