The most awaited Rawalpindi Ring Road is scheduled for a grand inauguration on August 14, 2024. It is confirmed by Commissioner Rawalpindi, Liaquat Ali Chatta. 18% of the development done
Commissioner Chatta provided insightful updates during a recent announcement. He revealing that the project, led by Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and National Logistics Cell (NLC), has completed 18% of its development work. The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) will oversee plantation on both sides of the Rawalpindi Ring Road.
Description of Project
The ambitious Rawalpindi Ring Road is projected to be completed by July 31, 2024, according to Commissioner Chatta. This comprehensive project includes 5 interchanges, 2 bridges, 6 canals, a Railway Bridge. Moreover it also included 15 subways, and 11 overpasses, underscoring its scale and importance.
Six Lane Highway
Stretching as a 6-lane highway from Baanth to Chakri Interchange on the M-2 Motorway, the Rawalpindi Ring Road aims to improve connectivity and accessibility to remote areas of the city. Development officially began in the last quarter of 2023, overcoming previous delays
Length of Highway and current development
With a total length of 64 kilometers, the current developing section covers 38 kilometers, with plans for further extensions in Phase 2. The government, Commissioner Rawalpindi, Chief Minister Punjab, and development firms are fully committed to ensuring the timely completion of this transformative project.
